Cyprus Launches EU Blue Card Applications to Attract Global Talent
Recently, the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection of the Republic of Cyprus announced that starting Monday, July 7, 2025, the Republic of Cyprus will begin processing applications for the European Union (EU) Blue Card, a residence permit tailored for highly qualified professionals from outside the EU and European Economic Area (EEA).
The EU Blue Card program enables skilled individuals to live and work in Cyprus and other participating EU member states, excluding Denmark and Ireland.
In Cyprus, the EU Blue Card programme will be available to candidates in select industries, namely:
- Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
- Pharmaceuticals, exclusively for research roles
- Shipping, excluding positions for ship captains and crew
Applicants must meet a minimum gross annual salary threshold of €43,632 to qualify.
