Cyprus Flag Ranked 8th in Paris MOU White List

On 14 June 2023, Paris MOU published a press release announcing the new performance lists for flag States and Recognized Organizations (ROs). These lists will take effect on 1 July 2023.

Accordingly, Cyprus is ranked 8th in performance Paris MOU White List which is an impressive rise from 13th place in 2022.

The “White, Grey and Black (WGB) List” presents the full spectrum, from quality flags to flags with poor performance that are considered high or very high risk. It is based on the total number of inspections and detentions during a 3-year rolling period for flags with at least 30 inspections in that period.

The “White List” represents quality flags with a consistently low detention record.

This increase is a reflection of the efforts made by Cyprus to improve control and surveillance practices. It strengthens the prestige and credibility of the Cyprus Registry and recognizes the efforts made to ensure the safety and quality of ships.
