Measures announced by the Company Registrar of Cyprus as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic

As a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Company Registrar of Cyprus has issued measures on the 23rd of March 2020 in order to assist companies in relation to filing and other compliance obligations.

The procedure of a 3 month notice to the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus for the striking off of companies which have not filed their past annual returns (HE32) is suspended up until January 2021.

The payment of the annual levy of EURO 350 for the year 2020 is extended up until the 31st December 2020 without the imposition of any penalties whatsoever.

In relation to administrative fines for late filings of notifications to the Company Registrar (e.g. HE2 change of registered address, HE4 alterations of officers and their particulars and HE57 transfer of shares) the imposition of any administrative fines shall be moved forward for 2021. (The exact date will be provided by amending law in due course).

In relation to annual returns (HE32) of the period 1/1/2020 up until the 31/12/2020, the filing can be made up until the 28th of January of 2021 without the imposition of any administrative fines.
