House Sales up 31% in Cyprus and Down in the Other EU Countries in 2023
On the 9th of July 2024, Eurostat (the statistical office of the European Union) published its findings regarding house sales in the EU.
According to Eurostat data, house sales were down in 13 EU countries out of 16 in 2023 compared to 2022.
The largest decline in the number of transactions in 2023 was recorded in Luxembourg (-43.3%), Austria (-26.4%), Hungary and Finland (each -24.5%).
Opposingly, the increases were recorded in Cyprus (+31.0%), Poland (+3.9%) and Ireland (+0.6%).
Cyprus had the highest increase in sales by a considerable percentage being 31.0%. This is indeed a vote of confidence in Cyprus.
